I’ve often expressed my aversion to change. Last week however, I came to realize that while I don’t always relish or anticipate change with the most wonderful attitude I can say that I adapt to it probably better than anyone I’ve ever met. I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m bragging because I give all the credit to Jesus for that.
What’s our little secret, you may be wondering? Every time I hear about a change that I wasn’t anticipating or looking forward to, I immediately ask the Lord to help me look for something positive in it. And then, I wait in expectation.
He always comes through. My hope and faith in Him is what gets me through the change. This is how I adapt. I can’t do it without Him. He makes it ... well ... almost easy. Before the change takes effect, not only am I ready but I’m actually looking forward to it.
I don’t ever look back with regret but search for fond memories or lessons that I’ve learned in previous circumstances. It only serves to compound the joy of moving on.
How do you handle change? Do you have a little secret to share?
